SITUATION AND DIRECTIONS
From your camp site Esterel Caravaning, it will take 40 minutes to get to the Callian village. When leaving Esterel Caravaning turn right direction Frejus – Saint Raphael. Once at Frejus take the motorway A8 direction Nice, exit at Fayence – Les Ardrets and follow the directions Fayence then Callian.
CALLIAN IN THE VAR
Callian is an authentic Var village, perched on a rocky green hill less than 40 kilometres from Esterel Caravaning. Built around the Castle Féodal the village looks over the valley below and reveals the Massif of the Esterel, Tanneron and also Montauroux, you’ll see its neighbouring village and the spectacular Saint Cassien Lake.
Protected by its surrounding nature which has been preserved the Callian village has resisted the assaults of time. Its castle, church and chapels date from the 9th and 11th centuries and are of exceptional historical value to the country. Its little streets cross and twist through the charming village and enable its visitors to see and discover all the wonders of Callian.
When you arrive at the very top of the hill you’ll have the treat of seeing the incredible panorama view over the valley. Not far from the Alps Maritimes and only 40 minutes from Cannes and Saint Raphael the Callian village often attracts personalities from all sectors; Christian Dior, who is buried in the area, the very much loved Sister Emmanuelle, Juliette Adam who all appreciated its calm tranquil living and the agreeable climate.
