Cotignac

At less than 70 kilometres from Esterel Caravaning you’ll find this village of character Cotignac. The village is dominated by 2 large Sarrasine towers, traces from the fortification that harboured the village, these 2 towers have the particularity of having no access by the bottom, and certain say they have secret passages…

The villagers and soldiers hid in caves to protect themselves during invasions, some of these underground (caves) houses still exist today. This incredible location at the foot of an imposing rock, its past is so well preserved and its peaceful tranquil living makes Cotignac a stop off not to miss in the Var on the road to Verdon.
